What is God's Divine Favor?

God's divine favor is the special grace and blessings that God bestows upon His people. When the Lord pours out his favor upon your life it means that he he gives you that special grace and influence to access open doors of opportunities, open heavens, unusual supernatural blessings and divine intervention. Divine favor causes the believer to receive answers and breakthroughs to difficult cases. Divine favor causes the believer to experience divine speed and acceleration in that what would take months or years to accomplish can take a significantly shorter time. Understanding God's divine favor will cause you to walk in abundant blessings. In this blog post, we will explore more about what God's divine favor is, how it manifests in our lives, and how believers can position themselves to receive it.

1. Understanding God's Divine Favor

Divine favor refers to the special kindness, grace, and blessings that God grants to His people. It is an unmerited gift, not earned by our works but given freely by God’s grace. The Bible is filled with examples of God’s favor in the lives of His people. For instance, in Genesis 6:8, we read, "But Noah found favor in the eyes of the Lord." Noah’s life was spared from the flood because of this divine favor.

2. What are some Biblical Examples of Divine Favor?

The Bible provides many accounts of individuals who experienced God’s divine favor:

  • Joseph: Despite being sold into slavery and imprisoned, Joseph found favor with God, which eventually led to his rise to power in Egypt. (Genesis 39:2-4).

  • Esther: Esther, a Jewish orphan, became queen and found favor with the king, which allowed her to save her people from destruction. (Esther 2:17).

  • Mary: Mary, the mother of Jesus, was highly favored by God, chosen to bear the Savior of the world. (Luke 1:28).

These stories demonstrate that God’s favor can lead to extraordinary outcomes, even in the midst of difficult circumstances.

3. Manifestations of Divine Favor

God’s divine favor can manifest in various ways in our lives:

  • Provision and Prosperity: God’s favor can lead to financial blessings and the provision of needs. Deuteronomy 28:12 says, "The Lord will open the heavens, the storehouse of his bounty, to send rain on your land in season and to bless all the work of your hands."

  • Protection and Safety: Divine favor can offer protection from harm and danger. Psalm 5:12 states, "Surely, Lord, you bless the righteous; you surround them with your favor as with a shield." Isaiah 4:5

  • Success and Advancement: Favor can bring success in endeavors and open doors to new opportunities. Psalm 90:17 says, "May the favor of the Lord our God rest on us; establish the work of our hands for us—yes, establish the work of our hands."

  • Healing and Health: God’s favor can also manifest as healing and health in our bodies. Jeremiah 30:17 declares, "But I will restore you to health and heal your wounds,’ declares the Lord."

4. How to Position Yourself for Divine Favor?

While God’s favor is unearned and freely given, there are ways we can position ourselves to receive it more fully:

  • Faith and Obedience: Trusting in God and obeying His commands attract His favor. Isaiah 1:19 says, "If you are willing and obedient, you will eat the good things of the land."

  • Prayer and Worship: Regular prayer and heartfelt worship draw us closer to God and open us up to His blessings. Psalm 84:11 states, "For the Lord God is a sun and shield; the Lord bestows favor and honor; no good thing does he withhold from those whose walk is blameless."

  • Living Righteously: Leading a life of integrity and righteousness aligns us with God’s will. Proverbs 3:3-4 advises, "Let love and faithfulness never leave you; bind them around your neck, write them on the tablet of your heart. Then you will win favor and a good name in the sight of God and man."

  • Seeking God’s Will: Actively seeking and aligning with God’s will and purpose for our lives positions us to receive His favor. Psalm 37:4 encourages, "Take delight in the Lord, and he will give you the desires of your heart."
